San Francisco Bay Area Insight Tour at a Glance
Monday 16 June
Begin with a historic walk through San Francisco’s waterfront, connecting with PWN members while exploring the city’s rich past. Then, enjoy a welcome dinner at The Battery, hosted by Founders Michael and Xochi Birch, for an evening of conversation with visionary entrepreneurs and fellow travellers.
Tuesday 17 June
Visit Stanford University to engage with leading innovators in AI and social impact on a campus that has fostered tech giants such as Google, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Netflix, Instagram, Yahoo!, Sun Microsystems, and Snapchat. For lunch, we’ll dine at Buck's in Palo Alto, a renowned gathering spot for Silicon Valley pioneers like Steve Jobs and Elon Musk, where some of the tech industry's most significant deals were reputedly signed.
Wednesday 18 June
San Francisco has been through many waves of growth driven by the Gold Rush, farming and agriculture, shipping and trade and in the 20th century the massive boom in technology led by Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. Since the pandemic, the city has been through tough times and is now feeling like it is amid yet another reinvention of itself. With self-driving taxis now in operation across the city and the AI boom well underway, what comes next?
Thursday 19 June
We’ll focus on extraordinary visits and discussions around family succession and legacy. We will take in a visit to the Marine Mammal Center on the way to the Napa Valley, where we will be hosted by some of the area’s oldest wine-making families.
Friday 20 June
Begin your morning at The Battery, where you will connect with San Francisco philanthropists. Followed by a private lunch discussion with members of Battery Powered, The Battery's philanthropic entity. The day will conclude with a private closing dinner to mark the end of this leg of the Insight Tour.
Saturday 21 June
Today, we’ll conclude the San Francisco leg of the Insight Tour with a reflection session, sharing key insights and experiences as we prepare to embark on the next chapter in Los Angeles.
